Here i am again sitting in front of my computer trying to overcome my fear of writing again. A friend recently told me that a person has to be a writer if they have a blog. I was mortified! Immediately the image of Norma Desmond stating "I can say anything i want with my eyes"popped into mind. Of course i think my drawings are like Norma's eyes. Maybe that should be the title of a new series. It would be timely with "The Artist" winning best picture. Maybe i will see that film tonight. But there is a chance the northern lights can be seen from Missoula this eve.
Today i will be doing research on crochet techniques while i continue to stare at my recent drawings and block printing materials in disbelief. I also have to un-frame some old pieces and decide what should be done with them. I am thinking of dismantling the old to make something new. The pieces that i am tired of looking at are doomed! I'm excited about re-exploring and re-working older ideas and fitting them into my newer work. Taking things apart and putting them back together excites the mad scientist in me.
"That body (of work) is not dead, it was never alive."
